To travel across the country is one thing, but to travel around the world is quite another. Traveling is FUN once you get there but can be a true pain. These travel essentials will help make traveling a little more comfortable.
I have traveled to California, 6 hours, and Hawaii, 9 hours, but when you travel 24 hours it’s quite a jump and you must be prepared. I will list my top 10 travel essentials that got me through my trip quite nicely!

1. A travel backpack – I like a backpack the best because it takes the pressure off one shoulder and distributes the weight, something with a lot of pockets to stay organized is a must as well, and nylon in material to provide waterproof protection and easy to wipe down for cleaning. This TUMI backpack is my staple travel backpack. Here is another great option on Amazon.
2. Compression Socks – Although you might find them a bit silly and not so fashion forward they are truly a must in my book! I tend to swell with travel in general but truly as a health concern to keep good circulation you will definitely want to invest in a pair to get though all your travels.
Pro tip: Put them on BEFORE your flight takes off or you might not be able to get them on once your swelling begins
3. A good neck pillow – I have tried so many pillows and never truly felt they supported my head and still found myself doing the neck bob until I tried the TRTL pillow. Y’all, I SWEAR it helped me get several hours of shut eye comfortably and took the weight off my neck.
4. Headphones– I’m a fan of headphones vs earbuds. A good pair that will cancel out the noise of the plane is also a great idea. I scored a nice pair of Bose Headphones off amazon during prime days but Beat Headphones are also nice!
5. Battery Pack – Not all planes have outlets (most do but just in case)
6. What’s in my toiletry bag?!
Disposable toothbrush, Gum, Lip Balm, Sleep aid, Eye Mask, Ear plugs, Face wash and lotion, Makeup remover wipes, Antibacterial wipes, Advil, Hair band
7. Entertainment– A good book, Ipad or Computer with pre-loaded movies, Pen and Paper
8. A change of clothes along with a sweatshirt
9. A few snacks and water bottle!
10. A light weight blanket. I personally LOVE this one that doubles as a towel/sarong.
I hope this helps pack your bag for safe travels!
XOXO
